Fixing Things IELTS Speaking Part 1

  1. Do you often fix things?

Answer 1 – I’d say, not often. Actually i am not a whiz at fixing things. So I preferably visit a mechanic shop to get the items repaired. However, I do this job at home only when It’s effortless and I have some spare time to do it. fixing things ielts speaking

Answer 2 – Yes, I often fix things and luckily most of the time, I get success as well!. Since my childhood days, I have been extremely keen to learn how to fix different things.

  1. Did you learn to fix things when you were younger?

Answer 1 – Absolutely, my parents taught me some basic repairs when I was younger. I used to do small repairs by myself like, fixing my broken toys, tightening screws, sewing buttons and solving some other minor household issues.

Answer 2 – Yes, I learnt a lot from my father how to do basic repairs for instance – fixing a creaky door, replace a failed wall fixing and more.

  1. What do you do when one thing is broken and cannot be fixed?

Answer 1 – If something is not fixable, then I try to bring it in use in other ways. and if am not successful I throw it away.

Answer 2 – If something is broken and i cannot fix then i usually throw away that thing. But, Sometimes for no reason i keep them in my store room.

  1. Do you think it’s necessary for people to learn to fix things?

Answer 1 – It’s undoubtedly essential to have knowledge regarding fixing things. It will save not merely money but also time. Moreover one will get a sense of happiness and accomplishment after succeeding in repairing the item.

Answer 2 – No doubt about that, It is imperative to learn how to fix things. Because, learning about basic repairing is an important skill which one should know. By knowing this, One does not have to hire any professional, Which helps him/her to save a bit of money.
