Introduction

Being a bilingual or multilingual is highly beneficial for us in this globalized world.

Here I would prefer to talk about International language “English” which I have been interested in since my childhood. Although It was one of my favorite subjects but I was not exceptionally well in it. As, now I want to crack lelts with flying colors, so, lately in order to have a good command over English language I did a lot of things, like, practicing soliloquy in front of a mirror, watching vedios, with subtitles, attending grammar classes and so on.

One of them was installing an app, namely, “English learning app” This is really a fabulous app It helped me a lot learn the language. As for how It helped me, I learned different new words and phrases on a regular basis, and how to form sentences using these words, phrases and idioms. Not only this, through this app I got an opportunity to communicate with people from nook and corner of the world.

Initially I felt hesitated while talking to others in foreign Language And also I used to get stuck in the middle. But I didn’t give up, I started to have long-winded conversation at times, which not only removed my hesitation but also minimized my mistakes while speaking. In response to the question how I felt about installing this app, I’d say, it seemed to me one of the excellent ways to enhance my English learning skills.

Another thing which is worth mentioning here is that I didn’t have to pay a penny for it, but I got numerous benefits from this app. I felt so delighted about it and suggested my friends to do the same thing that I did for making my English better. Finally! must say i am wholeheartedly thankful to this app because of which I could learn a lot.

Introduction

Well, I have an insight of different languages, such as Hindi, English and Punjabi.

But, I would like to share one instance when I took resort to online resources to learn another language called ‘Arabic’, which is an official dialect of Dubai. Actually, last year my family and I planned vacation in Dubai. Although English is the second language there; however, to enrich my trip, I decided to imbibe natal tongue of Dubai.

Since I wanted to grasp only beginners level Arabic, I shortlisted some YouTube channels to learn from home. Through YouTube sessions, I was able to comprehend many basic arabic terms, like ‘Hello’ is known as ‘Marhaban’ and ‘I am’ is ‘ana’, ‘yes’ is ‘na’am’, ‘Thank you’ is ‘shukran’ and many more. Further, I made written notes of these everyday life Arabic words for regular revision and immediate access.

Secondly, I downloaded arabic dictionary on my cell phone. The incredible feature of this online dictionary was that daily five different Arabic words would display on my mobile’s lock screen along with their respective english meaning. Not only this, it includes phonetic translation and spoken pronunciation of the particular word.

So, this dictionary assisted me to enhance my Arabic speech even in my hectic work schedule by sending words automatically or by letting me save any difficult word for later reference. Moreover, I signed up to one language exchange application named ‘Tandem’ where I tried conversing with different native speakers of Dubai. It improved not only my linguistic vocabulary but also my intercommunication skills.

Earlier I felt difficult to understand Arabic, but with the help of these online sources, I was finally able to find my feet within a month. Infact my Dubai’s vacation was fruitful as tourists guides were not able to exploit us and I could personally interact for any deal there. Overall, it was worthwhile for me to do efforts learn for learning a new language.

Answer – Well different problems are associated with different languages when becoming good at them. They are generally understanding grammar rules, learning vocabulary, sentences formation. Moreover one has one’s own problems like, hesitation while speaking, less catching power, lack of practice or lack of motivation.

Answer – Undoubtedly, being bilingual or multilingual is highly beneficial for us in this globalized world. It benefits us not only in our career but also when traveling to other countries we can easily communicate with people, learn about other cultures and expand our horizons. What’s more, most importantly one feel more confident or educated.

  1. Which is better, to study alone or in a group? why?

Answer – Each and every person has his/her own choice, perspective or mood at a particular time so he/she does according to it. But according to my perspective studying alone is a wise option because of some reasons. firstly, we can fix time according to our convenience. secondly no one will be here to interrupt us, without any interruption we can study more and effectively. Besides we can take a short break whenever we want and can re-energize or start again.

  1. What’s the best way to learn a language?

Answer – I reckon that the most crucial or beneficial method is practicing regularly. Because everything you do to learn a language is in vain until you practice yourself. Watching movies, reading books, taking online classes are, without any doubt significant. They increase knowledge ,vocabulary but doing practice is must. everyone knows’ practice makes a man perfect!.
