Why the air was not good?

The temperature was 31° Celsius and the air pollution was at its peak level because having a large number of individuals in Mumbai leads to the use of a large number of vehicles. I belong to Punjab so while living there, I have never faced too much pollution there but in Mumbai, I faced a lot of difficulties related to my skin such as tanning. Even I noticed that the local people there were not having many problems. I thought they become habitual with that pollution. Another reason behind air pollution in Mumbai is the smoke emitted by the industries.

And explain how you felt about the place?

My friends and I went there for our enjoyment and fun so at that time we were happy but we cannot live there permanently. I hope the government will have some kinds of campaigns or TV shows to raise people’s awareness of protecting the environment and plant more trees in the city to improve air quality. So, this is the place where I visited and found air pollution.

Question 1- Is there more pollution now than in the past?

Answer– Obviously yes, pollution is increasing day by day with the burgeoning proportion of the population. People are using their private vehicles and every area becomes more industrialized. There are no proper rules and regulations available to control air pollution. In the past, people used to travel without vehicles or there was less usage of vehicles. I must say that the increment in vehicles leads to create more pollution.

Question 2- In what ways can the air pollution be reduced effectively?

Answer– Multifarious ways can be taken into account to reduce air pollution. First of all, people should use the public transportation system instead of private vehicles and the government should improve the maintenance of public transportation. Next to this, industries should use filters for chimneys. It is the responsibility of the general public that they should do recycling

Question 3- Do you think the city is cleaner or dirtier than the countryside? why?

Answer-In my view, urban areas are dirtier than villages. The primary reason is that there are more vehicles in the city due to more population which leads to the air and noise pollution. Besides this, industries and factories are also more in cities which create air pollution. So, in this way, cities are more polluted than villages.

Question 4- What can factories and power plants do to reduce pollutants?

Answer– I believe that cities are dirtier as compared to rural areas because of the number of people moving from the villages to urban areas for getting a good quality education and employment opportunities. So, they are using their private vehicles which leads to creating air pollution. Besides this, industries are also opening in the cities. On the other hand, in villages, there is more greenery so people can get fresh air and less pollution.

Question 5- Do you think many companies have been forced to reduce pollution?

Answer– Yes, I think companies have been forced to reduce pollution because reducing pollutants in the air is important for human health and the environment. There are some rules and regulations made by the government and if companies do not follow that, they have to pay penalties or fines.

Question 6 – Do you think the wind has any effect on pollution?

Answer– Wind can be helpful in dispersing pollutants. For instance, if I talk about Chennai, even though this city has more population than Delhi but due to the large open spaces and sea breezes, the pollutants can be dispersed.
