Well I have always been fascinated by the prominent personalities and significant events of the past. Due to this i am in the habit of learning about the history. Although I have studied numerous historical periods, one I found quite fascinating and i am eager to learn more about it. This is the region of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh.
He was the founder and Maharaja of the sikh kingdom of the punjab, ruled from 1801 to 1839. He was popularly known as The lion of punjab. Explaining further his period piques my curiosity for several reasons.First and foremost he was the most visionary and relentless leader of his era. He united the various sikh fractions into one Prosperous empire and performed plenty of others commendable tasks for the welfare of his public.
Moreover I wish to gain more knowledge about his era because there was no any place for discrimination, malice, cruelty and corruption during his time. Apart from this, Plethora of improvements were brought in the field of agriculture, education, trade and several other ones during that period which resulted in the improved state of life of the people in the kingdom. This all I want to know in detail.
Furthermore For the purpose of acquiring more comprehensive understanding about his wonderful era, I need to read books, articles written by historians. Additionally I can surf internet by which I can gain information as much as possible. Finally in order to have a deeper insight into his historical period I can make a plan to visit the places where Maharaja Ranjeet Singh lived and ruled.

To be honest, I have keen interest in history since school days. I like to read and listen historical stories which helps me to enhance knowledge. Here, today I am going to talk about a historical period which I want to know more. This period is known as ‘Indian independence movement’.
This freedom movement was started by youngsters of Punjab named Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Rajguru and many more. It began in the early 20th century. I came to know about this period from a history book in 10th class. During my school time, I studied that between 1857 and 1947, there was a British rule in India. Since the British rule, many protests were done by freedom fighters to get liberty, but the successful fight was fought by these youngsters.
However, I would like to gain more knowledge about this period, because as a youngster, this movement gives me the inspiration to fight against bad people and works in the society. Apart from this, it also shows the bravery of youth. Honestly speaking, I want to know that how these young freedom fighters uprooted the roots of British Empire from India. In addition, Bhagat singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hung by British officials because they were leader of this movement.
Finally, India got Independence on 15 August 1947.Moving further, I will get more knowledge about this historical period from ‘Great freedom fighters’ book which contains deep information about this historic period. All in all, this is a period of history which I would like to know more about.

Q.1 Do you think nowadays children are learning too much about history?
ANSWER – No, Actually today’s generation are less interested in history but they are more curious to know about the current innovation and future.
Q.2 Many children tend to get bored with history because of all these dates, time you agree with that?
ANSWER – This is absolutely right. Today children have no interest in kings and queens wars. They start to feel lethargic. On the opposite hand, They take more interest in movies sports, fashion as well as technology.
Q.3 How can children learn about history?
ANSWER – If they take interest, they can learn from number of platforms like from social media, on google they can search about any freedom fighter. Moreover, arts and museums also is the best place to learn history. Apart from it, grandparents who have too much knowledge about it.
Q.4 What is the difference between learning about history from books and from videos?
ANSWER – The main difference is learners can attain knowledge about history from books but from videos they cannot only learn but also visualize. For example, last month, I watched movie on Jallianwala Bagh. Too many moments today i remember just because of visualization.
