It’s the celebration of the end of winter and the beginning of the spring. It falls in the month of March. It’s celebrated with great pomp and show across the country. Introduction

Well, celebrating festivals together is a great way to strengthen relationships between family members and relatives. Although I celebrate a variety of festivals every year like Diwali, Holi, Christmas, and many more, But here, I would love to talk about a festival that is really imperative in my nation.

The name of the festival is Diwali. It is also known as the “Festival of Lights. This festival occurs either in month October or November. This festival is celebrated for approximately 5 days. During this festival, I participate in a number of activities with my family and friends

We begin by cleaning the entire house and lighting it with multiple oil lamps, candles, and decorative lights. Then we go shopping for new clothes at the market. On the main day of Diwali, there is a tradition to purchase new utensils in my nation, so we purchase something new every year on this special occasion. In the evening, we go to holy places to perform traditional prayers and rituals.

At night, we worship Goddess Lakshmi and light the house with earthen lamps and colourful candles. Moreover, we exchange sweets among near and dear ones as well as fire the crackers. If I talk about my preference, I really like this festival because I love to see the entire country lit up on this day; there is no darkness in a single corner. However, I dislike one thing about it: some people gamble on this day.

When it comes to significance, I would say this is the festival that tells the people that there is always a victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and this festival also brings all religions together, spreading the message of unity.

Conclusion

Lastly, I would say this is the most important festival that is celebrated in my nation with great pomp and show.
