Introduction
Well competitions are mandatory in every field whatever one have a desire to make career in. They help one to excel in life. I participated in numerous competitions in the past and I had been quite successful.
These days i am looking forward to participating in a cooking competition and that’s what i am going to talk about in this cue card. This is going to be held at a popular hotel in our city. It takes place annually but i am going to take part in it for the first time. Actually i am really into cooking. during my college days I have learnt how to make various tasty recipes from my mother and grandmother.
They also have good culinary skills. Moreover During lockdown I have practiced a lot at home. And now I want to showcase my expertise by partaking in this contest. Participants come from far and wide to show their skills. Furthermore There are many renowned restaurants who sponsor this event and people with this great talent get an an opportunity to be hired by them and earn handsomely.
Besides an interesting thing is that whoever participates in this competition, whether he or she wins or not, will receive a certificate which can be useful for contestant in many ways. As for what I would perform in this competition, I vividly remember, in one of the rounds everyone is given a basket of random ingredients to prepare dish using those components only, I hope I will do very well in this round.
Apart from this I will make other mouth Watering dishes that will definitely touch the hearts of judges. In response to the question why i am interested in this competition, firstly I can display my profound knowledge of cooking. Secondly if I become winner of this competition with God’s grace, I would open a hotel or restaurant in the near future. last but not least and most importantly, It will be a great opportunity to network with others with same talent.

Introduction
Well, competitions play an important role in motivating people to learn new things which help to gain valuable experience. I love to take part in different kind of competitions which create a new opportunity to show our talent.
Today i am going to talk about a cultural competition in which i would like to take part in. Every year, this competition is organized by youth club of our society in our hometown. In this contest, we can participate in various activities like Giddha, Bhangra, Singing, painting and many more.
The main motive of this event is to make youngsters aware about our culture and traditions. I would like to take part in Giddha which is the popular folk dance of punjab, India. In this dance, girls stand in a circle formation and a lead girl generally sings a traditional folk song which is also called boli. Then the entire girls repeat that song. The rhythm is created by the clapping of hands and no other instruments are used during this dance.
The reason why i have developed interest in it because i used to participate in Giddha during my school and college time where my friends and teachers always appreciated me for my performance. This thing boosted my confidence and now i will do more hard work in this dance in order to achieve first prize.
Conclusion
So, this is a competition in which i want to take part in and i am eagerly waiting for that day.

ANSWER – There are numerous annual competitions are held in my hometown. Residents of my hometown happily and enthusiastically take part in them and try to do exceptionally well in them. Competitions especially regarding painting, cooking, music, outdoor games have gained massive popularity in my hometown during the last decade or so.
4. Why do you think there are many competition programs on TV today?
ANSWER – I reckon it’s happening primarily because people fancy watching competitive programs. so they demand for more such programs to be telecasted. Besides producers earn handsomely with minimal efforts, thus these shows are more profitable for them. Last but not least, As contestants get fame and fortune by participating in these shows, so more and more people get encouraged to take part in them. Therefore TV channels need to telecast more such competitive programs.
